GottaGo - a hopefully useful application for the upcoming swiss iPhone release

UPDATE: You'll find any future information on Codesofa.com
Whew, it's been a long time since I really blogged about something worth blogging :)
Today, I want to announce the release of `GottaGo'. An iPhone application to help people get around in Switzerland if they will (soon?) own an iPhone :)
It shows you your closest stations and their corresponding link informations. I've dreamed about such an app since I moved to Zurich, so now I had the opportunity to make it myself.
There are a few things yet-to-come like when you have to switch trains or which number of train you have to take etc. But these are just a few more xpaths :)

Check out the video (.mov) here (with sound!): GottaGo Movie

After Allentown drowning, danger sign urged for 'bottomless' Mine HoleAllentown drowning may prompt changes at secluded swim spot. The July 22 drowning of a 24-year-old man in the water hole east of Allentown s (FRANK WARNER, THE MORNING )August 03, 2014|By Frank Warner, Of The Morning CallAfter a drowning in a water hole on Allentown's South Mountain in the late 1950s, scuba divers went down to explore its cold, murky currents.According to local lore, the divers were surprised at the depth of the swimming spot they called the Mine Hole."They never found a bottom, but they did find a car hung up on the rocks on the way down," remembers David Stoneback, who was a boy growing up in Allentown at the time. Two weeks ago, another man drowned in the 250-foot-wide water hole just east of the South Mountain Reservoir. Louis vuitton Pas cher The death reminded Stoneback, who lives in neighboring Salisbury Township, of the Mine Hole's hazards."It's extremely dangerous," he said. "The police are calling it a pond, and they shouldn't be. It's not just a pond. There are whirlpools. This thing up there on South Mountain is very deep. They couldn't find a bottom."It's important that the public not swim there."At 4:20 p.m. July 22, Matthew Ruch of Allentown jumped into the water from a rope swing during a day out with friends. He failed to resurface safely.About 40 minutes later, a city Fire Department diving team pulled the 24-year-old's body from a spot 15 feet deep.Police and fire officials later cautioned against swimming in the Mine Hole, which sits in the secluded woods of the city's South Mountain Park."There are no lifeguards, no supervision," police Capt. Bill Lake said. "You don't know what kind of debris might be there, or other hazards. We would recommend that people go to a city pool or a similar location."Lake said city police want the public to be safe in the park, and new steps may be recommended after the Lehigh County coroner's office completes its investigation of Ruch's death.Coroner Scott Grim has ruled that Ruch died of accidental drowning, but his office is studying the evidence closely to determine more specifically what went wrong.Stoneback said the city should bring back the "No Swimming" sign that stood in front of the water hole more than a half century ago, when he often fished there. He said the sign repeatedly was ripped down, but it used to be replaced. He told police about the missing sign about seven years ago, he said, but he's not sure it ever went back up.Neighbors who regularly visit the park said last week they haven't seen a "No Swimming" sign at the Mine Hole for at least a decade. They pointed to the 30-foot-long rope swing tied to a tall elm on the water's south edge.Next to the rope is a platform of planks nailed to three trees. That's where Ruch leaped in two weeks ago."What disturbs me is, police don't seem to take it seriously," Stoneback said. "They talked about a lifeguard, but even if Allentown was going to supply a lifeguard, they couldn't do Sac Louis vuitton Pas cher it in good conscience."Lake said police have long advised people in the park to stay out of the water hole."It's been an unwritten rule to tell people it's not wise to swim there," he said. "We recommend that people not swim in those areas, whether there are signs or not, due to safety concerns."Places like that are particularly appealing to people because there is a sense of being by yourself," Lake added. "But it's hazardous, too."Allentown fire Capt. John Christopher also urges swimmers and in the winter, skaters to stay away from the Mine Hole, but he said the water there may not be so deep and swirling as folklore describes it."I've heard all those same stories," he said. "I grew up in Allentown, too. But I've been <scuba> diving in that pond for over 15 years now, and the deepest I've ever seen it is 20 feet."I've heard that thing about divers not finding the bottom. I never had a problem finding it."Christopher said he has not encountered a noticeably strong whirlpool at the Mine Hole. To him, the most hazardous part of swimming and diving there is the water's grimy darkness."It's very dangerous because you don't know what's in there," he said. "Over 10 years ago, we did a cleanup there. We were pulling out lawn mowers and everything else tires, rims and all kinds of stuff."Before Ruch's drowning, the last Mine Hole swimming death on record happened July 16, 1983, when 29-year-old Harold J. Smith of Allentown died after he jumped in.It took two days to find Smith's body. The origin of the name Mine Hole is obscure. Local historians have speculated the spot was an American Indian jasper mine or a more recent settler's quarry. But Stoneback and Christopher say it appears to be a natural geologic formation.Stoneback said the drownings may seem rare, but they could be much more unlikely with a little effort. A "Danger, No Swimming" sign would be a start, he said."The main thing is, this needs not to happen again," he said. "There could be people swimming up there right now."610-820-6508Featured ArticlesMore:Related Articles

Andre Reed's very long day was one that will resonate for a long timeAt last long, the Dieruff High and Kutztown University product is a Hall of Famer after Saturday night's speech hit a home run.Allentown s Andre Reed (left) made special mention of his former (Kirby Lee, USA Today Sports )August 03, 2014|By Keith Groller, Of The Morning CallCANTON, Ohio It was 2:30 Sunday morning inside the chic Canton Club and Joyce Reed-Ebling was still going strong."I can't believe how late it is," the mother of Andre Reed said. "It feels like it's earlier than this."A long-awaited night for the entire Reed family, a night that most families could only dream of, was nearing its end. However, it was a night that Joyce and all members of the family will never forget. Not only was Andre Reed finally a member of the Pro Football Hall of Fame, but his entrance came with the poise, grace, humility, and yes, passion, Louis Vuitton Alma that he brought to the NFL for 16 seasons. There is no official rating system for speeches, but in the eyes of many, Reed delivered the most poignant performance of the night during his 36 minutes at the microphone. He is not Mr. Television like Michael Strahan. The former Giants' defensive lineman was as engaging and as entertaining as expected during his turn on the stage, which followed Reed's.But Reed commanded the attention of the crowd inside Canton's Fawcett Stadium and a national television audience by telling his story of the kid who "didn't grow up with in the easiest of childhoods."While expressing his love for his late father, Calvin, he told the rest of the story, saying: "For all the great things my dad did, he had his faults, just like we all do. And my dad's biggest fault he was an alcoholic. I saw things growing up no child should see. So sports became my safe haven, my shield, my guard."He mentioned his love for his mother, who "did everything she could to keep the family together."He talked about the tight bonds shared with his brothers, Tyrone and Dion, and sister, Teshia. He also mentioned all of the influential coaches of his youth, including Allentown A's coaches Roy Sekoch and Gene Legath and the guys who mentored him at Dieruff including Bruce Trotter, Ted Phillips, Bill Wood and Ted Steiner. He called his Huskies head coach Larry Lewis by the name of Larry Little, perhaps momentarily mixing him up with the former Miami Dolphins offensive lineman and Hall of Famer. That little flub did nothing to diminish Reed's overall presentation."I love you guys all," Reed said of his coaches. "Thank you very much."He didn't forget the Kutztown phase of his life either, mentioning coaches Gino Calcagni, Al Leonzi and George Baldwin and the All-American quarterback who threw him his first TD pass, Lehigh Valley resident Greg Gristick.Of course, the national audience and certainly the large number of Buffalo Bills fans at the stadium couldn't wait for the NFL portion of his speech. The crowd soaked up every minute of his stories about Bills legends like Bruce Smith, Darryl Talley, Thurman Thomas, and of course, Jim Kelly. The sound bite that will be shown over and over again featured Reed telling Kelly: "I was known for my toughness, for going across the middle, making that catch, breaking tackles. But the toughest individual I've ever met in my life is Jim Kelly. You're the reason I'm standing here today."Later, he said: "Jim, you have endured a lot in your life, the loss Louis Vuitton Artsy of a son, and most recently, your battle with cancer. You're an inspiration to all those you touch. I'm honored to call you my teammate, my friend, my family member and now a fellow Hall of Famer. I love you, man."Reed's speech ended with him catching one more pass from Kelly, a completion every bit as special as the 663 connections they had as teammates, a combo that was No. 1 in NFL history until Peyton Manning and Marvin Harrison came along.Despite being weakened by his chemotherapy treatments, Kelly stayed at Reed's party long after most of the other 200 guests had left.Thomas, Smith and Marv Levy, the Hall of Fame coach who served as Reed's presenter, was also at the party into the wee hours. Even well-respected GM Bill Polian stayed around late.Levy's longevity was particularly impressive because Sunday was his 89th birthday, something Reed noted when he took the microphone again at his party. It was clear that the Bills' Super Bowl teams of the early 1990s were all about family. So, too, is Reed, who clearly didn't forget where he came from on Saturday night. He made sure they were at the ceremony, and the party that followed.Amid all of the NFL greats, including Dan Marino, Bobby Bell, James Lofton and Curley Culp, were Keith Newhard and John Molotzak, who coached Reed at Dieruff. They were all smiles as they mingled with Trotter, Wood, Gene and his son Adam Legath, Lewis and longtime family friends like Mike Stahl who ran dozens of bus trips from Allentown to Buffalo during Reed's career.Reed, who was cheered loudly earlier Saturday as he participated in a Hall of Fame parade through the streets of Canton, never got to experience a Super Bowl parade or Super Bowl victory party during his career. But this extremely long day that began with a parade and ended with a party was probably as special as any Super Bowl win could have been for the little kid with the big dreams. As tired as everyone felt, no one wanted it to end."He did it," Joyce Reed-Ebling beamed as she gave goodbye hugs. "I continue to be in awe of my son. That speech was just perfect. It was a home run. He included just about everyone and said all the right things. I was always proud of all my kids, but I've never been prouder than I am tonight."Featured ArticlesMore:Related LinksRelated Articles

The warring versions played out as Fairfax Media confirmed court documents showing a series of 1997 child molestation charges against Mr Farnell, who was given a three-year jail term for sexually molesting two girls under the age of 10. He had pleaded not guilty to six charges of indecently dealing with a child under 13.
West Australian child protection services were called in by police to investigate the ''suitability'' of Mr Farnell following the disclosure of the molestation offences.
On Tuesday night there were reports child protection officers had visited the home but were not able to speak to the couple.
The revelations fuelled what has become a global story about Gammy's apparent abandonment.
Foreign Affairs Minister Julie Bishop announced the government would be examining Gammy's case, which was labelled ''tragic'' by Prime Minister Tony Abbott. It is understood an interdepartmental committee, which first met on Monday, would also look at broader issues relating to international surrogacy arrangements.
''We're looking at it from every angle, in terms of foreign affairs, immigration and the Attorney-General's office,'' she said.
A leading surrogacy lawyer, Stephen Page, called for criminal checks in Australia before intended parents engage a surrogate overseas.
Australian parents who have a child born to a surrogate in a foreign country are subject to a check by the Department of Immigration and Border Protection to determine the child's eligibility for citizenship, but not whether the parents have a criminal history.
In contrast, Australian parents adopting a child from overseas or domestically must undergo strict background checks. Australian couples undergoing IVF also undergo criminal checks in Victoria.
Meanwhile the condition of Gammy Sac Louis Vuitton Eden has dramatically improved since he was rushed Sac Louis Vuitton Evora to a hospital near Pattaya last Saturday suffering from a lung infection and what was believed to be a hole in the heart.
A spokesman for the hospital said on Tuesday doctors assessing Gammy reported he may not need heart surgery and will probably be able to go home in a couple of days.
Gammy's surrogate mother said on Tuesday she wanted the girl back ''because she is my baby. She was in my womb''.
She said she was shocked by the report the father had a conviction in Australia. ''But I will leave it up to the law whether I get my daughter back whatever happens is fate,'' she said.
On Tuesday a friend of Mr and Mrs Farnell issued a statement to Fairfax Media's Bunbury Mail to give the couple's side of the story for the first time.
David Farnell is a well-known Bunbury electrician. He has three grown-up children and is believed to have married his second wife, Wendy Li, in China in 2004.
''This has been absolutely devastating for them, they are on the edge,'' the family friend said.
''Legally they have been told not to say anything but they wouldn't be able to anyway.''
She said reports made by the Thai surrogate mother that the couple had requested an abortion when they found out Gammy had Down syndrome, and that they had subsequently abandoned the baby boy, were completely false.
The birth of the twins had been planned to take place at a major international hospital in Thailand.
But Ms Pattharamon had gone to another smaller hospital, which made the surrogacy agreement void, according to the couple. This meant the Farnells had no legal rights to the babies, even though they were the biological parents.
The babies were born two months premature due to complications. She said the couple was not told that Gammy had Down syndrome, but they were told he had a congenital heart condition.
''Gammy was very sick when he was born and the biological parents were told he would not survive and he had a day, at best, to live and to say goodbye,'' the friend said.
Ms Pattharamon then said she wanted to keep Gammy and give him a proper Thai funeral.
The couple became embroiled in a legal battle to bring home the female twin. The 21-year-old surrogate mother finally agreed to hand the baby girl over, but the couple were terrified she could change her mind.
''All this happened when Thailand was in a military lockdown and Sac Louis Vuitton Galliera very difficult to get around,'' the friend said.
''The biological parents were heartbroken that they couldn't take their boy with them and never wanted to give him up, but to stay would risk them losing their daughter also.
''They prayed for Gammy to survive but were told by doctors that he was too sick, not because of the Down syndrome but because of his heart and lung conditions and infection.''
Mr and Mrs Farnell spent two months in Thailand and extended their visas but due to the unrest said they had no option but to leave without Gammy.
A fundraising campaign has raised almost $220,000 for Gammy's medical costs and long-term care.
The fallout from the case threatens an estimated 200 Australians who seek surrogacy arrangements in Thailand every year.

Gordon has played in 291 of 316 games over the last four years (including the lockout and the first round of the playoffs that one year). That's 92.09% of all the Jazz games. That's not at Louis Vuitton Alma Tassen that / level. But it's pretty high. If you add it all up it's 8,260 total minutes, which is a lot. It's more than the 2,000 minutes per season that I am somewhat interested in giving younger guys.
But how much is 8k minutes? Well . . . this is where we get the pie part.
.
Hayward vs total Jazz Minutes:
With all the games, and all the overtimes, the Jazz have played 76,665 minutes over the last four seasons. G-Time is at 8k. What does it translate to?

It's 11% of all the minutes possible. The average for a 12 man roster is 8.3% of the minutes if everyone got it equally. We see Gordo has more. If you look at just the last season it's a huger piece of the pie.

Yeah, 14% is +70% more than the Louis Vuitton tassen Speedy normative average. It's a bigger piece of the pie, but this is if we look at what Gordon has gotten vs. the entire team over the last four seasons. As Hayward is only one man, let's judge him against the other single possibilities.
.
Hayward vs. Single Position MPG:
Gordon has played in 8,260 total minutes, and in 291 games. Simple maths tells us that's 28.38 mpg. A single player can play 48 minutes per game (in a non-overtime game). If you look at his average against a single position you see that Hayward gets to play more than half the minutes.

Yeah, nearly 60% of the time is G-Time. But what about last season?

Holy moley! His 36.36 MPG in 2013-14 was over 3/4rds of all the available time.
.
I think this is Hayward's team to primarily lead. He's the guy who rose up against not being a Rookie game guy to being a USA Select member, and a USA World Cup training camp member who made it past the first cuts. He has the national cred from the smartest basketball minds on the planet. While is a born leader who is just as good, if not crazier, as a leader -- and while seems to ooze star potential; it's clear that Hayward has earned the right to lead this team.
After all, he's been the only regular player over the last four seasons, and in his most recent campaign totally dominated.
Gordon is, effectively, finally becoming "the Precious" that we hoped he would be years and years ago when he was just Louis Vuitton Portemonn known as the unprotected draft pick. And this upcoming season is going to be pretty awesome as a result.

President in which he was pretty clearly doing his best to give an aneurysm:
Obama downplayed Moscow鈥檚 role in the world, Sac Louis Vuitton Speedy Round dismissing President Vladimir Putin as a leader causing short-term trouble for political gain that will hurt Russia in the long term.
鈥淚 do think it鈥檚 important to keep perspective. Russia doesn鈥檛 make anything,鈥?Obama said in the interview.
鈥淚mmigrants aren鈥檛 rushing to Moscow in search of opportunity. The life expectancy of the Russian male is around 60 years old. The population is shrinking,鈥?he said.
Obama has managed to compress a pretty startling amount of factual inaccuracy into just 3 short sentences. Let鈥檚 take his claims in order.
1) 鈥淚mmigrants aren鈥檛 rushing to Moscow in search of opportunity鈥?nbsp;
One of the first things that anyone notices when they are in Moscow is the enormous number of immigrants from Central Asia. Probably the single most noteworthy and inescapable feature of modern Russian life is the prevalence of hundreds of thousands, if not millions, of people who have already rushed to Moscow 鈥渋n search of opportunity.鈥?It鈥檚 impossible to miss them.
If for some reason you distrust that demonstrate the huge numbers of immigrants moving to Russia, maybe you鈥檇 be willing to listen to liberal darling Alexey Navalny. Navalny, you see, is actively agitating on behalf of aggressive anti-immigration policies, recently w of Muslim 鈥済uest workers.鈥? Navalny鈥檚 (popular) campaign only makes sense if there are large numbers of immigrants. Indeed a by Barack Obama鈥檚 very own government recently produced an interesting video showing how Eid Al-Fitr was celebrated in Moscow by the throngs of immigrants that are (you guessed it) there 鈥渋n search of opportunity.鈥?
Russia is widely acknowledged to be the most popular destination for immigrants after the United States, and several of the most consequential political disagreements in Russian society revolve around the question of how to deal with immigration. Anyone who thinks that Russia isn鈥檛 dealing with a significant debate over immigration simply doesn鈥檛 know anything about the country.
2) 鈥淭he life expectancy of the Russian male is around 60 years old鈥?
The life expectancy of the Russian male isn鈥檛 a subject of conjuncture or obscure philosophical inquiry, it is a number that is very easily found on the public-facing . In 2013, the average male life expectancy in Russia was a little bit above 65 (technically it was 65.14). When Obama says that life expectancy is 鈥渁round 60鈥?he鈥檚 off by about 8%. With a similar margin of error we could say that Barack Obama is the 41st president of the United States, that he won 47% of the vote in the 2012 presidential election, and that he was born in 1957. 8% is a margin of error that people rarely feel confident using, because it very quickly makes you sound rather ill-informed and ignorant.
It is still possible, of course, to argue that Russian male life expectancy is low. In comparison to other countries in the region it is rather low. But there鈥檚 a difference between 65 and 60. One is factually accurate and one isn鈥檛. For some reason Obama chose to go with the inaccurate one, and it鈥檚 worth pointing out as much.
3) 鈥淭he population is shrinking鈥?
Obama鈥檚 statement is a perfect example of why I so frequently write about a topic as seemingly obscure and boring as Russian demography: people from the US political elite almost always make huge mistakes when talking about it.. The Russian population isn鈥檛 just growing in 2014, it also grew in 2013. And 2012. And 2011. And 2010. And 2009. Unless you get into a -like debate over the meaning of the word 鈥渋s,鈥?it鈥檚 impossible to argue that Russia鈥檚 population is shrinking. It was shrinking in the past and it is likely to shrink in the future, but it is not shrinking at the present moment. Not a very complicated concept.
I鈥檓 fully aware, of course, that Russian demography is not the most important issue in the world. Countries will not rise and fall because Barack Obama used out of date information on Russian life expectancy. But it really does not say anything good about Obama鈥檚 team that they allowed not one, not two, but three blatant factual inaccuracies to sneak into a sit-down interview with the press. Before doing an interview like this, someone as powerful as Obama will have a small army of researchers and assistants running around to help him prepare. Apparently none of them could be bothered to do a few basic searches.
In today鈥檚 world, it is not that difficult to get accurate demographic information, and it鈥檚 a little bit disconcerting that no one on Obama鈥檚 team was able to do so.

Some landmark moments happened in July for women seeking leadership positions in religious organizations. From gaining the right to become bishops in the Church of England to leading the women reached new heights within faith communities.
The advancements were celebrated as signs of growing commitment to gender equality in religious groups, but they also highlighted how polarizing the issue of female Celine Cabas Bags leadership continues to be.
Although women have been ordained in the Church of England since 1994, that traditionalists resisted their ascension into the office of bishop on theological grounds. The Church of England's vote mid-month to allow women bishops represented an end to "years of deadlock and division."
"At times the issue became so divisive that there were fears that groups might break away if they lost the argument, either to align with the Roman Catholic Church or with evangelical African churches," the Times article said.
Anglicanism continues to be globally divided on the issue of women's ordination, which threatens the denomination's stability. Although the Church of England's decision met with wide support in the United States, Australia, Canada and New Zealand, where women could already hold the office, "some Anglican churches in developing countries do not even ordain women as priests," the Times reported.
Less controversial was CCCU's election of Shirley Hoogstra, its first woman president, although it still represented a big change for the male-dominated organization: "Approximately 9 of its 175 members institutions are currently led by women," .
Hoogstra formerly served as the vice president for student life at Celine Wallets Calvin College in Grand Rapids, Michigan. Calvin's student newspaper, , reported that she was "the first woman to serve as a cabinet member" at the college.
CCCU is a Washington, D.C.-based organization that supports the work of Christian academic institutions. Many of its member schools were part of a done on women leadership at evangelical nonprofits.
The study concluded that "when it comes to women in leadership positions, evangelical nonprofits lag behind their secular counterparts," .
"This isn't just about the people in top leadership positions this is about those who are the top paid leaders, and it's true about the board," wrote one of the study's organizers, Amy Reynolds, for .
The Women in Leadership study found that of the 1,300 nonprofits analyzed, 16 percent of the top leaders, 21 percent of the boards and 23 percent of the highest paid employees are female. In the nonprofit world as a whole, women make up 43 percent of board members and Celine Clasp Bags 40 percent of CEOs.
A recent on single moms who serve as ministers addressed the ongoing debate about women who divide their time between motherhood and leadership positions.
"There's nothing that points up the traditional conflicts that religious groups have put forward between ordination and womanhood than motherhood," said Ann D. Braude to RNS. "Traditionally, motherhood by Christians and others was viewed as a vocation, and you can only have one vocation: You could have the ministry or motherhood as a vocation, but not both."

The V8 Supercars support races at the Australian Grand Prix are set to gain championship status next year and retain the elevated importance during the Albert Park event s new five-year deal.
Following the renewal of the formula one race from 2016-20, Australian Grand Prix and V8 officials are stepping up efforts to make the V8 races part of the 2015 title series in anticipation of a longer agreement.
But just as upgrading the V8s from their long-standing exhibition status is feasible because they are being shown on the same TV network as formula one from next year, continuing to race for championship points at Albert Park during the new agreement will depend on which network secures the formula one broadcast rights from 2016.
Next year s Melbourne Grand Prix, scheduled as the formula one season opener from March 12-15, is the last of the Ten Network s existing deal as well as the final race of the Victorian government s current contract.
After eight years on Seven, V8 Supercars is switching Louis Vuitton Speedy to a split media rights agreement with Fox Sports and Ten in a $241 million deal from 2015-20.
With the future of the Melbourne Grand Prix secured, negotiations Louis Vuitton Siracusa for a new five-year broadcast agreement from 2016 will enter the bidding stage soon.
Fairfax Media understands that preliminary talks with rights holder Formula One Management have already started, with Ten believed to be pitching for a renewal in a V8-style combined bid with Fox Sports.
Nine and Seven are also thought to have expressed interest in the formula one rights, especially with Daniel Ricciardo emerging as a future world title contender.
Australian Grand Prix Corporation chief executive Andrew Westacott, who described the next formula one broadcast rights as a work in progress , confirmed that the event was working with V8 Supercars to run championship races at Albert Park.
There s no impediment whatsoever to trying to make that happen, Westacott said. We re desirous of it being a championship event for the V8s and I m looking forward to (it happening in) 2015 with a very positive intent.
We ve asked V8s to come up with ideas for race formats and scheduling, both of which have to fit in with F1 s strict requirements. Beyond that depends on a continuing alignment of the respective F1 and V8 broadcasters. But if the V8 races can remain a part of their championship, it would be a great thing, adding more weight to the event. V8 Supercars chief executive James Warburton also expressed a strong desire to add the Australian Grand Prix to next year s championship calendar, which is due to be announced during the September 12-14 Sandown 500.
We are working hard with our broadcast partners Fox Sports and Ten on (including the Australian Grand Prix races in the championship) next year, Warburton said. There is the obvious link now in terms of domestic (TV) rights in 2015, but we need to see what happens for the F1 contract moving forward.
But we are very Louis Vuitton Wilshire optimistic of racing for points (at Albert Park) next year. V8 Supercars have staged the main supporting races in all but one year 2006 since the Australian Grand Prix moved from Adelaide to Melbourne in 1996.
But for most of that time clashing TV deals and, until recently, the lack of a dedicated pit lane and garages, meant the V8s could only contest non-title races at Albert Park.

Although Eric Bledsoe and his agents thinks he deserves a massive contract extension, he ll soon realize that what the Phoenix Suns have been offering is as good as it s going to get for him, at least in this NBA off-season.
The Suns have made an offer worth $48 million over four years to the restricted free agent. Bledsoe, despite his reputation and demands, hasn t done much in the NBA as of yet. He was a backup through his first three seasons in the league and last year was his first as a starting player. Louis Vuitton Evora He averaged 17.7 points per game, quite impressive, but managed to stay healthy for just half the seasons.
The only team that can give Bledose an offer sheet with more money are the Philadelphia 76ers. Now, the Sixers might be a team that players will want to play for again in a year or two, but that s not happening right now, and the Sixers aren t very likely to commit any kind of money to anyone but their own building projects at the moment.
So what are the options for Bledose? Taking the offer from the Suns and end what is almost turning into a feud between the sides, even though both of them are saying it s just business , or take a one-year qualifying offer which means making a lot less money than he would have been if he d accepted the long-term deal, but it ll give him a window to unrestricted free agency in 12 months, which might not be such a bad idea.
The Suns surprised everyone with their impressive season in 2013-2014, narrowly missing the playoffs. They didn t get the opportunity to make a big free Louis Vuitton Galliera agency signing no one would sit down with them, but they remain a young and promising team that will be taken more seriously this season. We think it s a fair offer. I think you could argue, you know, I mean some would say it s maybe a little high; some would say it s low.聽What s fair is important to us, and also important to him him and his agent. For the last 19 years Petersen has presided over administrative hearings whenever insurance regulations or rulings are challenged, serving in a judicial role that is supposed to be every bit as fair and impartial as a judge in a courtroom. But starting late last year, when a spate of cases involving the Affordable Care Act began coming before her, she says a new deputy commissioner, James Odiorne, began pressuring her to rule in the agency鈥檚 favor. The Insurance Commissioner鈥檚 office maintains that it merely was trying to tighten up procedures and ensure that rulings reflected the latest thinking from the agency鈥檚 management. Matters came to a head when Odiorne dropped an unscheduled evaluation on Petersen in May, just as a critical case involving Seattle Children鈥檚 Hospital was coming before her.
Pearce鈥檚 report quickly dismisses the charge of pressure. He says Petersen had an 鈥渆xtremely strict鈥?view that all matters concerning insurance聽regulatory policy聽needed to be aired during hearings, and he says it was proper for Odiorne to raise general聽issues outside of court, because he was not Sneakers Louis Vuitton directly involved in prosecuting or defending cases. 鈥淭he actions by Mr. Odiorne did not constitute improper ex parte communication,鈥?he writes.
Instead,聽Pearce s report finds grevious fault with Petersen, for, among other things, sending a copy of her whistleblower complaint to one of the attorneys in the Children鈥檚 Hospital case 鈥?something Talmadge calls inadvertent as she sought legal help and for failing to disclose that her husband, a pediatrician had been a resident at the hospital more than 30 years ago, and occasionally supervises interns as a volunteer.
Talmadge聽says the report聽measures Petersen against a code of ethics for administrative law judges at the independent Office of Administrative Hearings, which doesn鈥檛 apply to a judge working for the OIC.聽Yet if聽the code did apply, he says it would be clear that Odiorne鈥檚 communications were improper.聽And聽Talmadge points to the strangest thing about the report: Though it says Odiorne聽did nothing wrong, it faults Petersen for not reporting him soon Loafers Louis Vuitton enough.
The Office of Insurance Commissioner says the report did the best job it could: 鈥淲hile it is understandable that some will disagree with the findings and conclusions of the independent investigator, the report represented the best option to get an unbiased and impartial accounting of the issues at hand,鈥?says spokeswoman Stephanie Marquis in an email.
鈥淭he independent investigator, who has a background in law and who was selected through the contracting process that is available to state agencies, conducted several interviews and examined almost 2,000 pages of related documents to reach his conclusions.鈥?
It is hard to imagine the report settling anything. Already Becker says she plans to launch an investigation of her own, using the powers of her committee. And one of the questions she will ask is why on earth the Office of Insurance Commissioner controls its own judges in the first place, rather than hearing cases at the Office of Administrative Hearings. More and more it is sounding like a case for true independence.

"There is a conflict of interest in this vote because council member John Yerman lives along Cotton Street," Boyko said. After solicitor Patrick Armstrong assured Boyko there was Porte-Monnaie no monetary gain on Yerman's part, so there was no conflict, Boyko withdrew his opposition. Before the vote, Kalmbach trustee Dale Dries told council that the park would ideally like to see Cotton Street remain as it is two-way between Chestnut and Church streets.Dries also said the park would donate land to accomplish that, but if council decided on the partial solution, Kalmbach would also donate land as long as the borough pays for "all costs of road construction and improvements including sidewalk and any bridge construction.""Although, again, we do not feel this is the best alternative for Pochette Louis Vuitton the community," Dries said. The approach council ultimately decided on was one of four suggested by borough engineers Barry Isett Associates of Upper Macungie Township to address these issues: Deteriorated pavement along the majority of Cotton Street. Lack of pedestrian accessibility along the street. Lack of storm-water conveyance amenities. Traffic accommodation.Additionally, the engineers' report said, "The majority of pavement deterioration occurs down the center of the roadway due to the freeze/thaw effect resulting from poor drainage." Consequently, "The poor drainage is also deteriorating the bridge abutment and creek wall."Council chose the engineers' third scenario, which will "require minor right-of-way acquisition, will have less of a circuitous route for residents," who will use Dock Street.Dock Street, one block north of Cotton, will be one-way eastbound."This alternative has limited reduced impact to the corner property at Church and Cotton streets and would cut bypass traffic approximately in half," the report said. The repairs to Cotton Street are the second part of a three-part, $1 million project underway in Macungie.Part 1 is creation Sacs du soir Louis Vuitton and paving of Lumber Street in front of the Devine School. The road is scheduled to be completed in mid-September. Part 3 is installation of a traffic light at Main and Church streets. In fact, it鈥檚 so involved that the start of the school year has been pushed into early September.
Part of the work is being done at the football stadium, where a new turf field, press box and increased seating have coach Ray Biles feeling like his team has a legitimate Class 4A-level place to play.
Biles and his staff went to work on rebuilding their team Monday, the first day schools in 4A and below could .
They know it will be quite an undertaking with only 12 lettermen returning, but Lorena has found ways to get it done in the past. Never the biggest, strongest or fastest squad, the Leopards have reached the playoffs each of the past six years and claimed at least a share of the district title four times during that span. Last year was no different, as Lorena shared the district crown in a 9-2 campaign.
鈥淵ou approach it the same way every year,鈥?Biles said. 鈥淭he expectations are the same. The community doesn鈥檛 care that we鈥檙e young. Like I tell our seniors each year, I don鈥檛 go tell people we鈥檙e rebuilding. You don鈥檛 need to hear as Louis Vuitton Alma Tassen a senior that we鈥檙e rebuilding. We have a lot of guys that were good on Thursday night, and now we鈥檙e going to find out if they can be good on Friday night.鈥?
Consistent winning has been more elusive, for Connally and Robinson, both of which begin this year with high expectations. The Cadets rode an explosive offense to sharing the district title with Lorena last season and won a playoff game before falling to eventual state finalist Fairfield to finish their season at 9-3. They return both of their most important playmakers offensively in quarterback Kristian Brown and district MVP running back Josh Terrell.
They have holes to fill defensively, but coach Mike Rabe said this was the best summer Connally has had since his arrival in 2010 and the Cadets arrived excited to get started.
鈥淭hey were ready to go,鈥?Rabe said. 鈥淚 didn鈥檛 see any fatigue or anything as we were practicing, no lack of concentration. It was, physically, a really good day first day for Louis Vuitton tassen Speedy the guys.鈥?It also helped that many teams got outside early in the morning and finished before the heat became an issue.
At Robinson, coach Tommy Allison has his team moving quicker than it ever has in his tenure. Having 35 seniors 鈥?an extraordinary number for a 4A Division I school 鈥?is making things easier for the Rockets, who are coming off an 8-3 season.
鈥淲hen you look out there and kids already know what they鈥檙e doing, they know their assignments, we can really just work to get better and take care of some things you might take for granted when you鈥檙e having to do a lot of teaching of systems and stuff,鈥?Allison said. 鈥淭he leadership is really where I can tell a big difference out there. When you have that many seniors, it just filters down all the way to the freshmen because everybody鈥檚 pushing everybody.鈥?
All three will have some early tests that will show how well things went during the next few weeks of practice, with Lorena calling on some old district rivals.
The Leopards will meet China Spring, Robinson and La Vega in the first three weeks of the season. Biles knows the kind of test those schools 鈥?and their coaches 鈥?present, and he thinks win or lose, it will make Lorena a better team.
鈥淚 always felt that whoever came out of the old 17-3A, they were going to be prepared,鈥?Biles said. 鈥淭hat didn鈥檛 mean we were going to go out and win every playoff ballgame, but you had already had some wars. In some districts they knew they鈥檇 only played one serious contender or one ballgame. Now what happens? Every week in the old 17-3A if you weren鈥檛 ready to play, somebody was about to hand you your behind in a hurry.鈥?
There鈥檚 plenty of excitement to be had with all three schools, and for good reason. Biles hopes his team can make the community as happy about his team as it is about the improved stadium.
Of course, all of the construction isn鈥檛 making life easier now.
鈥淭here are a lot of distractions with the construction and things that are going on, and you know what, that鈥檚 not a bad thing,鈥?Biles said. 鈥淭here are a lot Louis Vuitton Portemonn of distractions that happen on Friday night, and you have to work through it and stay focused. If it鈥檚 just a matter of going around a pile of dirt and over a trench to get to the practice field, we鈥檒l do it.鈥?

Quinton Dial could play a big role in the 49ers defense this year (USA Today)Two weeks of training camp and two possible season-ending injuries for the 49ers. The first week, Kendall Hunter tore the ACL ligament in his knee. The next week, nose tackle Glenn Dorsey tore Celine Doctor Frame Bags his biceps tendon, one day after his 29th birthday.
Add to that leg injuries to wide receivers Brandon Lloyd and Michael Crabtree that should keep them out for a week or two and you wonder if this is the year injuries jeopardize the 49ers effort to return to a fourth straight NFC title game.
In the Harbaugh era, injuries have been remarkably minimal, particularly on defense. But already the season-threatening injuries to Dorsey and Hunter will challenge the team s highly-touted depth. Defensive coordinator Vic Fangio sounded less than optimistic about the possible return of nose tackle Ian Williams, who has already endured multiple surgeries in the last 10 months to his shattered lower leg.
It could leave the 49ers with the under-sized Tony Jarod-Eddie Celine Luggage and the beastly but inexperienced Quinton Dial as the crucial men in the center of the 49ers defense. The team is also unsure when they will get defensive end Justin Smith back. He has been activated, but only fully participates in the team s morning walk-through practice.
Fellow starter Ray McDonald has also been waylaid by a leg injury that is not expected to linger.
At running back, general manager Trent Baalke has favored a two- or even-three-running-back attack. But that plan might be again on hold with the injury to Hunter, LaMichael James dislocated elbow and the slow rehabilitation of Marcus Lattimore.
The team could very well start the season with Frank Gore as the starter and practice squad player Jewel Hampton and rookie Carlos Hyde as backups. That means the 49ers might be reduced to a

one-pronged attack Gore.
No team has played more games the last three seasons than the 49ers. And, coach Jim Harbaugh is known for running one of the more arduous training camps in the league. You wonder if it all might be catching up to this team.

Courts going soft on pot-smokers and sellersChanges in attitudes have made jail sentences less Yayoi Kusama Louis Vuitton Soldes likely in marijuana cases.August 02, 2014|By Riley Yates, Of The Morning CallAlan H. Oren was at home in Upper Mount Bethel Township when state police showed up a couple years ago and did something that, in his words, "wasn't too cool."Acting on what Oren believes was a tip from a neighbor, troopers searched a shed near his mobile home, finding 9 ounces of marijuana, a digital scale, sandwich bags and two pipes, according to court records."It was kind of rough on me, man," Oren, who is 55 and now lives in Pen Argyl, said in a recent interview. "They were looking at putting me in prison for a year. I mean, for what? For supposedly selling a bag of weed."Oren's June 2012 arrest underscores how Pennsylvania has proven resistant to the pro-pot politics that have triumphed in such places as Colorado and Washington state, which have legalized marijuana. But the ultimate result of his case speaks to another reality: that even as the state's war on marijuana continues, not many defendants even among those accused of dealing pot are ever sent to prison for it.Though Oren was charged with a felony drug offense, he ended up plea bargaining down to a misdemeanor marijuana-possession charge. His ultimate punishment? Eight months of probation.Outcomes like Oren's are common, a Morning Call review of marijuana prosecutions shows. In 2013 and 2014, seven in 10 cases of possession with intent to deliver marijuana in Northampton County concluded without the defendants spending any time in prison, court records reveal. Not one of the 54 cases produced a state prison sentence, with three months the typical jail term in the 16 Sac port锟斤拷 锟斤拷paule instances in which prison was handed down.In Lehigh County, a sample of 20 marijuana delivery cases from around the same time period demonstrated similar results. Seventy percent of them also saw no prison time, and no one was sent to state prison."We're not jumping up and down saying this guy should go to jail," said Northampton County District Attorney John Morganelli, who nonetheless opposes recreational marijuana.Or as veteran Allentown defense attorney Gavin Holihan put it: "A defendant would have to work hard to go to jail for marijuana."That makes former football star Austin Scott's case atypical.Scott, a former Parkland High School and Penn State running back, is serving six to 23 months in Lehigh County Jail after pleading guilty to selling small amounts of marijuana to undercover officers last year on four occasions. The sentence, handed down in May by Judge Robert Steinberg, shocked Scott's attorney, who had hoped for probation and has since asked the judge to reconsider. In court, the now 29-year-old Scott told Steinberg that when he sold the pot, he felt it was "a little thing" that allowed him to make a few dollars and feed his own use of the drug."This is not a little thing," Steinberg shot back. "This is a felony."That's true, but polling shows that the public has become increasingly uncomfortable with that.In October, Gallup reported that for the first time in its surveys, a clear majority of Americans supported legalizing marijuana, with 58 percent in favor compared with 39 percent against. The first time the question was asked, in 1969, only 12 percent supported legalization.A poll in Pennsylvania in February showed that 48 percent of state voters backed the legal use of marijuana for adults, versus 42 percent who opposed it. Just 15 percent believed Pennsylvania's pot laws should be kept the same or made harsher than they are today, the Mercyhurst Center for Applied Politics in Erie found. That's a fact of life that Northampton County drug prosecutor Tatum Wilson had been thinking about as she prepared for a trial this week in which she was going to ask a jury to convict a Hanover Township man of selling marijuana. One of her concerns: that even if jurors found she proved her case, they'd acquit the defendant anyway because only weed was involved.Wilson won't have to worry. On Friday, 21-year-old Fawad Anwari pleaded guilty to marijuana delivery, receiving one to 23 months in county prison from Judge F.P. Kimberly McFadden.Though Wilson otherwise had been prepared to go to trial to prove Anwari sold pot, she knows the risks of that firsthand. As a former public defender in Philadelphia, Wilson said, she tried a marijuana delivery case in which the jury came back with a not-guilty verdict. Talking to jurors afterward, they were "incensed" that authorities had pursued the charges, Wilson said."One actually said to the prosecutor, 'We wasted our time for this?'" Wilson remembered. But the law is the law, and Wilson said that as an assistant district attorney, she can't look the other way when she believes someone has broken it."Just because it is marijuana and people don't think it is serious, it is still against the law," she said.1 | | | Featured ArticlesMore:Related LinksRelated Articles

pushing for a ban on it. The reason is not passenger safety, it is the disruptive effects of voice calls they Louis Vuitton Tassen re concerned about.
The government agency has plans to publish a notice of proposed rule making (NPRM) about in-flight calls in early December, and open it for public comments until February 2015. As per the report, the notice will detail the reason why the agency wants in-flight calls to be banned.
At this point, there is no final determination as to what the NPRM will say, let alone a final rule, a DOT spokesperson said.
The news comes nearly a year after the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Louis Vuitton Kopen that it is safe for travelers to use hand-held electronic devices like smartphones, tablets and e-readers during all portions of a flight from take off to landing. However, that did not include making or receiving phone calls. Shortly thereafter, the FCC had that it doesn t see any safety-related reasons to block the use of cellular services during airline flights.
On the other hand, airlines are opposed to a blanket ban, and argue the Transportation Department is overstepping its bounds. They want the government to let them decide how cellphones are used in flight, with some of them considering options such as phone booth-like areas where calls could be made without disrupting other passengers.
The Transportation Department has said it would pursue the ban on consumer-protection grounds, adding that it has the authority to force a ban because it has been tasked with ensuring airlines offer safe and adequate services. According to the report, if the DOT moves Louis Vuitton Handtassen ahead with a voice call ban, it could override any FCC rule change.

It s the coaching staff s turn.
Entering fall camp last season, the Kansas football players were the ones dealing with the majority of the adjustments. They were thrust into fall camp with entirely different coaches, schemes, ideals Louis Vuitton Tassen Kopen and a very different mentality on how to win games.
Now, with far better knowledge of how their players respond and play in actual game situations, the coaches are the ones making adjustments. This season, the coaching staff has made sure to play to their team s strengths, which starts and ends in one place鈥攔unning the ball.
Last year it was more 60-40 pass to run, it s probably going to be the reverse of that this year, offensive coordinator Chuck Long said. Maybe even a little bit more than that with the run game.
With 749 yards rushing last season, sophomore running back James Sims makes it easy to see why the coaching staff is changing it up. Bringing his average of 4.4 yards a carry back to the turf, Sims said a goal of his since the end of last season has been reaching 1,000 yards rushing鈥攁 goal that s within reach with the coaches new focus on the running game.
With the added carries, Sims is going to need some backup and fortunately for him, there s a lot of young talent at running back behind him. In particular Freshman Darrian Miller and redshirt freshman Brandon Bourbon should see plenty of action on the field this season.
While there are a lot of strong Louis Vuitton backs behind Sims, coach Turner Gill made it clear that he should have no concern about where he stands amongst the others.
He is our best guy at this point in time, Gill said. He has a good approach every day, coming to work, getting better, talking to coach Mitchell and talking to myself.
Making it possible for the running backs to have a big season is an offensive line that returns nearly all of their core players from last year.
Without the offensive line, we d be nothing, Sims said. They ve been opening up some big holes for us this fall and we just hope to carry that on through the season.
With an offensive line that is trying to turn things around and a group of running backs that have a lot of potential, it makes sense that the coaches are adjusting the offense to fit their players
The tone at Kansas Football s Media Day on Tuesday was a positive one. Not because of the usual, everyone is getting better talk, but because the coaches now know what they have and how Geodkoop Louis Vuitton they re going to execute this season.
For us it s who do we have and how do we get the ball in his hand, Long said.

Labor leader Bill Shorten will launch a five-week campaign this week on the theme that Prime Minister Tony Abbott is a ''liar''.
The campaign marks a year since the 2013 federal election campaign in which Mr Abbott toppled Kevin Sac Louis Vuitton Eden Rudd after having successfully weakened Julia Gillard, largely over her ''lie'' on the carbon tax. Pat Flynn of Tacoma is known as the mother of Relay For Life, which means most people know Dr. Gordon Klatt as the father of the event. But Flynn says that doesn t do him justice. He was way more than that ... she said. There is only one founder in the world of Relay For Life, and that is Gordy Klatt. Gordy Klatt, she said, changed the face of the fight against cancer forever. The Tacoma surgeon died at age 71 Sunday, his family said, following a recent struggle with a heart condition. In 1985, Klatt single-handedly changed the way the American Cancer Society raises funds by combining his passion for running with his passion for fighting against cancer. Klatt ran more than 83 miles around the track at University of Puget Sound for 24 hours and raised $27,000 in tribute to a young man who died of the disease. The next year, 220 people on 19 teams joined him, and a worldwide phenomenon was born. In 1994, it became the American Cancer Society s signature event. Today, the Relay For Life is held in 23 countries and has raised nearly $5 billion. He s not going to be forgotten because he s the guy who started the Relay, said Harvey Rosen, who knew Klatt for decades. It s not even a local legacy, it s a worldwide legacy. Every time there s a Relay, he s going Celine Bags to be remembered. Flynn remembers her first glimpse of that legacy. And it was literally a glimpse. The gates to the UPS track were locked when she went to try to watch Klatt that first year. She knew him because she was a patient at Buy Celine Bags his medical practice, and she peeked through the bars twice during the 24 hours to make sure he was OK.It was while he was running on that track that he envisioned the team event, she said.A couple months later, he asked her to join the six-person committee to organize the first team event the next year. Neither of us ever dreamed that in 30 years it would raise $5 billion, Flynn said. He was always the vision, and I was the details person. Flying to put on a workshop for Relay in the early years, she said Klatt made some projection about how much they would raise in a certain number of years. I just looked at him and said: In your dreams, she remembered.Whatever it was, they far surpassed it.A Tacoma monument honoring Klatt and commemorating the start of Relay For Life is in the works. A committee headed by Rosen has raised nearly $115,000 to buy a sculpture honoring Klatt and a marker to tell the story of how the Relay came to be. The location has not yet been determined. Klatt himself was diagnosed with stomach cancer in March 2012. The guy was a battler right til the end, Rosen said. Whatever hospital he might have been in, the staff would ask him for his opinion because he knew more than some of these inexperienced doctors and nurses. Klatt was a surgeon in Tacoma for 40 years. He spent three years as an Army surgeon and then went back to school to become a Celine UK Outlet colorectal specialist. Klatt continued to run the relay until he had knee surgery in 1995, according to his wife of 23 years, Lou Klatt. He was a very kind, good-hearted, giving person, she said. He really cared about his patients. They were number one. He loved marathons, dancing, and playing the accordion and the piano. Klatt learned to play the accordion when he was 5 and continued to play until the end, although he had trouble lifting the 40-pound instrument. He s survived by his wife; three children from a previous marriage, Julie Sullivan, Lisa Steudel and David Klatt; five grandchildren; sister Kathy and brother Don. My grandchildren will see a day when there is no cancer, Klatt once predicted. Sullivan remembers him as a fun dad who drove the high school carpool, loved music and liked travel and photography.David Klatt said he and his dad enjoyed Husky football and Seattle Supersonics games together as season ticket holders. The family had their own relay team in the early years of the event, they said. The American Cancer Society did not wish to comment Monday, saying they would release a statement at a more appropriate time.

Here s what we saw during today s session.
12:27 The view for reporters during these practices at the Linc is great. So we start today with videos of a couple running back drills you ve seen before, but maybe not this up close. You ll notice the emphasis on making defenders miss at Louis Vuitton Evora the second level.

12:32 - A piece of paper from the notebook of Inquirer reporter Zach Berman just fell to the ground and flew onto the field past the area where media are allowed to go.
A security guard picked it up after a few seconds. Can you imagine if a player would have slipped? We could have had an LD/Shaq situation on our hands:

12:35 - During the 3-on-2 portion, Josh Huff delivers a great effort on a jump ball down the left sideline, but Curtis Marsh breaks it up. One thing that stands out with Huff: the way he competes for the football. I'm looking forward to seeing him in the preseason.
12:43 - It's special teams time, but we keep our attention on the quarterbacks working off to the side. They take turns fielding shotgun snaps, reacting to fake pressure from their left, shuffling to their right and then throwing off their back foot.
We've covered this before, but new QBs coach Bill Musgrave uses a baseball glove to field throws at practice. From my vantage point, it looks like a black and tan Rawlings. I was a Mizuno man myself, back in the day.
12:55 - During 7-on-7s, Cary Williams stands on the sideline with his helmet in hand. He did not participate in team drills today. While many wondered whether he was being disciplined for his comments about the Patriots, Williams said after practice that he was just experiencing some general soreness.
Jordan Matthews flashes nice hands on an out-breaking route, reaching up and snagging a Mark Sanchez pass while keeping his feet in bounds. As Matthews sprints upfield, the crowd goes nuts.
What I'm convinced of with Matthews: He can get open and catch a lot of balls on short and intermediate routes. What I need to see: That he can get vertical and beat man coverage down the field.
We've wondered in this space why Matthews doesn't get more reps against the ones. Chip Kelly provided an answer today.
"The one thing you don't want to do with anybody is just throw them out there and then he doesn't know what he's doing," Kelly said. "A lot of the scripting that goes on in terms of play calls, the play calls are different for the ones and the twos and the threes. It's not 閳?doesn't matter who is in there right now. We are trying to give those guys a chance to be successful, give them confidence and get their feet underneath them a little bit.
"You can call certain things with our ones, but because they have all been here before, by and large, they have been running with that group right now, so they are pretty comfortable doing it and you can dial up any play you want. But if it's something that we touch base on in practice but we have not gotten back to Louis Vuitton Galliera and now we are in practice seven or eight, it may not be as quick for him on the recall standpoint. So we are just trying to get him as many reps, get him on film, let him get an understanding of what we are doing. He's doing a great job of learning but you'll eventually see that as he continues to improve here."
There you go.
The Eagles continue to work on a dime look with four corners, two safeties and Mychal Kendricks as the lone linebacker. I've said it before, but this seems like an excellent option in third-and-long situations, especially if Nolan Carroll II continues to play well.
1:00 - During 7-on-7s, LeSean McCoy practically incites a riot by tossing the football into the stands. He later runs by and stops to say hello to a female fan who looks like she's about to faint and does the whole "I'm fanning myself with my hand" thing.
I thought McManus was going to have to put his CPR skills to use there, but she avoided passing out.
1:19 - During one-on-ones, Ifeanyi Momah separates from Brandon Boykin on a go route and makes the grab on a beautiful throw from Nick Foles. I still don't think Momah makes the squad, but clearly he has improved.
Undrafted free agent Quron Pratt makes a fantastic diving grab while keeping his feet in bounds on a back shoulder throw near the sideline.
Later, undrafted free agent Kadron Boone draws a huge ovation for his double move against Marsh, but he drops the ball, which results in an even louder roar from the fans.
1:32 - Foles held on to the ball quite a bit today.. During this drill, he takes a sack.
Darren Sproles beats Bryan Braman on a wheel route from Sanchez. Matthews then makes a nice grab from Sanchez down the seam.
The catch of the day goes to B.J. Cunningham. Tremendous effort on a 50/50 ball downfield against Marsh. He ended up coming down with the pass from Barkley for a touchdown.
1:44 - Malcolm Jenkins, a former corner, has impressed me with his man Louis Vuitton Lockit coverage skills this camp. Looking forward to seeing if that translates to games.
1:57 - Boykin vs. Momah again. This time, Boykin's all over him, racing ahead in hopes of an interception. But Momah shoves him from behind to make sure that doesn't happen.
Huff makes a great adjustment on a ball from Sanchez downfield. The crowd goes nuts, and the offense starts moving to the new line of scrimmage. But Kelly calls it back. Apparently he didn't have both feet in bounds.
On the last play of the day, Brent Celek gets past Connor Barwin in man coverage and comes down with the TD from Foles in the corner of the end zone.
The Eagles will be at NovaCare Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday this week. We'll have it all covered.

Credit Ian Levy for writing an excellent article on what the signing could mean for the . If you haven't read , I strongly suggest you do. Levy has also done some great things over at hickory-high.com, which is another site that should be mandatory reading for nerdy (and non-nerdy too) basketball fans everywhere.
Levy compares the Bulls Noah-Gasol pairing to the Divac-Webber pairing of those excellent teams in the late 90's and early 00's. I truly feel that the 2002 Kings were one of the greatest teams if not the greatest to never win a championship. They had shooting, a strong post presence, and a heck of a lot of flair. Check out their if you don't remember or are too young to have witnessed their greatness. They also got jobbed against the . It was . However, all that aside, they were a fantastic team. Are the Bulls really comparable to such a great team? Let's delve into it Porte-Monnaie a bit.
One of the qualities at the crux of this Kings team was some great shooting. Take a look at their page. They had five players that shot over 35% from the arc and four of them had at least two 3pa/g. Peja was very much a high volume shooter from distance taking a whopping 4.1 per game. He shot 41.6% that year too. However, was assisted on 67% of his shots and 86% of his 3's. For reference, Korver was assisted on 94% of his shots last year. was assisted on 63%. on 42% last season. assisted on 27% his MVP season. It seems to me that Peja was very efficient and could get his own shot about as much as a Luol Deng type of player. Do the Bulls have a player like that on the roster? I'm not sure they do. However, Peja and the other guys on the Kings were still assisted on the overwhelming majority of their three point shots. So, while I am concerned that the Bulls don't have quite a variety of off the dribble shot creators, perhaps they have enough shooters? Hinrich, Dunleavy, McDermott, Mirotic, and Rose all have the ability to put up 35% + from beyond the arc. Do the Bulls have the shooting to contend with those Kings teams? I'd say just from a shooting perspective, yes, they have a chance.
Playmaking was another quality for those 2002 Kings. Most people remember the great passing, but they forget just how good they were at getting unassisted buckets. Of their top five players in terms of minutes, all of them were assisted on less than 70% of their buckets. That's pretty impressive. If you look at the probable big minutes players for this year's Bulls, Rose will definitely meet that criteria, Gasol and Hinrich likely will, Noah, Taj, and Jimmy will all be borderline, and the rest probably won't (although no idea about Snell). My strong guess is that none of our borderline players will make it or at least we won't want them too. While all three were assisted on less than 70% of FGs last season, all of them had pretty poor efficiency. They need to be assisted more to be effective. I think the Kings were underrated in their ability to get their own shot of the dribble or in the post. was a beast. I think the Bulls will fall short in this area.
Everyone seems to remember how great of a passing team the Kings were. While they were great, they were not the best in the league that year. Pochette Louis Vuitton They were 4th in assists but first in pace (something I doubt we'll see from the Bulls), so that means in terms of pace adjusted assists, I am betting they were #5 at best. That is still pretty good especially because the Kings got lots of layups and dunks off those assists. The great part about the Kings is that they were 4th in assists without anyone averaging over 5 per game (Bibby was right on 5.0). Webber and Divac combined for 8.5 assists. Could the Bulls replicate this feat? The Bulls were 10th in assists last year while being nearly dead last in pace. This is without Derrick Rose. There is no doubt the Bulls can be a great passing team. Noah averaged 5.4 assists last year (, and on his top plays from last year if you've forgotten how good he is). Gasol averaged 3.4 last season, and has gotten to at least 3 per game every season since 2006. I think the Bulls will be great in the passing department.
There are a few other tidbits to consider. The Kings were the #3 offense and #6 defense that year. I think the Bulls will be better defensively, but can they crack the top 10 offensively? I'm still concerned about the lack of ability to break guys down off the dribble, but hopefully the plethora of shooting and multiple post players will help mitigate that. The Kings had two players who scored 20+ppg, however, they played at a frenetic pace. They averaged 5 more possessions than the Bulls last season. For reference, that's the difference between the 2005 under Mike D'Antoni and middle of the pack team in terms of pace that season. However, do the Bulls have two guys that can score? We assume Rose can, but can Pau still score enough at 34 to help out? Who knows.
The last tidbit is that the Bulls will be built around Derrick Rose where the Kings were built around Chris Webber. Both are amazing players, but the teams will certainly play differently. I think the positives to take from this comparison in general are that the Bulls should now have enough shooting and can definitely be as good if not a better passing team. Where they will struggle is unassisted shot creation. The Bulls offense may still be too reliant on precise movement and screening to be successful. That said, having the best passing big man combo since Webber-Divac is going to be lots of fun to see. All Sacs du soir Louis Vuitton in all this comparison made me a bit more hopeful for our Bulls this season. Hopefully, the Bulls will find similar success to the 2002 Kings...without getting screwed by the refs :).

LONDON (Reuters) - captain Steven Gerrard has announced his retirement from international soccer, the Football Association said on Monday. The midfielder won 114 caps for his country after making his debut in a 2-0 win over Ukraine at Wembley in 2000. I have enjoyed every minute of representing my country, and it is a sad day for me knowing that I won t pull on the England shirt again, he told the FA s website (thefa.com). Gerrard s appearance at the World Cup in last month was the sixth time he had represented England at a major tournament, but it ended in failure as s side went out at the group stage. Gerrard appeared to be particularly affected by the disappointment - never more so than after the 2-1 defeat by , when his misjudged header allowed to score the late winner. The 34-year-old said he was retiring from internationals in part to ensure he can keep playing at a high level for Liverpool. I d like to firstly thank my family and friends for all their support throughout my England journey, Gerrard said. I d also like to thank everyone who has been part of my international career, from the England managers I ve played under to the staff at the FA and, of course, all the players I ve been fortunate to play alongside. In particular, the supporters have been amazing, not least in Brazil, when they got behind the team despite the disappointing results. I d especially like to thank Roy (Hodgson), firstly for giving me the captaincy permanently when he took the job, making me the proudest man in the country and allowing me to fulfill my childhood dream. He has been very understanding over the past few weeks and is a man I will always hold in the highest regard. This has been a very difficult decision, one of the toughest I ve had to make in my career. I have agonised over this since coming back from Brazil and have spoken to family, friends and people close to me in the game before coming to this point. Most importantly, Brendan (Rodgers, Liverpool manager) has been fantastic and obviously I have to look after my body as much as possible to ensure I can give everything when I take to the field. To ensure I can keep playing to a high level and giving everything to Liverpool, I believe this is the right decision, and having Champions League football back at Anfield is another big factor in my decision. INCREDIBLE SERVICE Hodgson told the FA: While I m disappointed in the decision, I can entirely understand Steven s situation and can have no complaints given the incredible service he has given to his country. I must respect his wishes due to the discussions we have had and the amount of thought and consideration he himself has given it. He is an incredible man and a fantastic footballer who we have all been blessed to see in an England shirt so often. It is never by coincidence that people reach such a staggering figure as 114 caps - it is a mark of his wonderful talent allied to a huge drive and determination to live up to the highest standard. He is not only a player to bring crowds to their feet with moments of brilliance; he was a tremendous captain and an exceptional role model for everyone who was fortunate to come into contact with him. We shall miss his leadership qualities as we look ahead to the qualification campaign (for Euro 2016) with a youthful group of players. Gerrard captained England 38 times, scored 21 goals for his country, and was the third most capped England player of all time behind Peter Shilton (125) and (115). His final appearance was against at the World Cup, when he came on as a 73rd-minute substitute in a 0-0 draw. The FA said Gerrard will continue his strong relationship with the governing body in a high profile ambassadorial role . But in notes distributed to a closed-door briefing earlier this month, UrbanGrowth was trumpeting a new figure: 50,000 homes and 50,000 jobs.
The developer said the numbers were derived from using more long-term projections than the state government s, which based its estimates over the next two decades.
But it refused Louis Vuitton Large Shawl Scarf to say how much further these projections would go. However, UrbanGrowth acknowledged plans had widened.
Further work has obviously been done since September 2013 to examine the capacity of existing infrastructure along the corridor, a spokeswoman said.
UrbanGrowth would not say when it was planning to announce its expanded plans.
Critics were drawing an analogy between these plans and the progressive doubling in size of the Barangaroo development.
The government makes the initial announcement to get community support and then the delivery authority doubles without any democratic oversight, said Greens MP David Shoebridge.
Urban Taskforce, the lobby group representing property developers, had pushed for greater density in the areas and in 2012 floated a Louis Vuitton Shawl plan for 100,000 homes.
A spokesman for Planning Minister Pru Goward said the government would not remove planning approval powers from local councils or planning panels.
In that case, UrbanGrowth could be forced to win approval from ten, mostly Labor-controlled councils to win approval for its plans. It had recently started striking agreements with councils to begin talks.
Leichhardt mayor Darcy Byrne refused to join Marrickville and the City of Sydney councils in signing up for talks because he feared the project's plans could already have grown far beyond his council s development limits.
The government s plan to redevelop the Parramatta Road corridor can best be described as being conceived on the back of an envelope, he said. Despite continual requests for data these projects are still concealed by a cloak of secrecy.
The City of Sydney voted to sign a memorandum of understanding that paved the way for negotiations on Parramatta Road with UrbanGrowth on Monday.
But Labor councillor Linda Scott successfully moved to ensure the council did not agree to any further negotiations on other UrbanGrowth projects unless it agreed to reserve 15 per Louis Vuitton Silk Scarf cent of any developments to affordable or social housing.
UrbanGrowth also had plans for redeveloping the area around the Sydney Fish Markets.
UrbanGrowth has made clear one of its key priorities is to turn a profit, Ms Scott said. My concern is that this will come at the cost of community facilities.

The Ground megahub planned to be built on Willowbrook Road in Allen Township will defeat the purposes for which the Wayne A. Grube Memorial Park was established. So the strategic goal for the park Louis vuitton Pas cher is to nurture and protect this land for recreational purposes for the community under criteria set by the Northampton County open-space initiative. With the amount of air, noise and traffic pollution to be caused by this FedEx megahub, 24 hours a day, these purposes of the park will be negated. MONTGOMERY, Ala. (August 4, 2014) U.S. District Judge Myron Thompson ruled Monday that Alabama state lawmakers exceeded their authority when they passed a law last year that requires doctors at abortion clinics to have hospital admitting privileges and issued an order temporarily blocking enforcement of the law.
Thompson's decision came days after a federal appeals court blocked a similar law in Mississippi.
Planned Parenthood and others filed a lawsuit over the Alabama law last year.
Supporters of the law say it would make clinics safer, but clinic operators say the law would force the shutdown of all but two of Alabama's five clinics.
Thompson says the Alabama law would place an undue burden on women.
In a statement, Alabama Attorney General Luther Strange says he disagrees with the ruling and will appeal after Thompson issues a final order.

"Today, I have taken the steps to remove sales of non-organic t-shirts and other products that damage the Earth from my concerts and my web Louis Vuitton Neverfull stores," Young wrote. "I vow to speak up to do what I can to PROTECT EARTH."
Young then provided a bullet-pointed list of scary facts about cotton production, which he notes covers almost 5% of Earth's cultivated land with its crops. "Cotton is second for most pesticide use of all crops it uses 25% of all of the petrochemical based pesticides, fungicides and herbicides globally," he says. "The Environmental Protection Agency considers LV Monogram Idylle seven of the top 15 pesticides used on cotton in the United States as 'possible,' 'likely,' 'probable,' or 'known' human carcinogens (acephate, dichloropropene, diuron, fluometuron, pendimethalin, tribufos, and trifluralin). These chemicals absorb into the soil which can affect nearby crops, get into water supplies and rivers and affect many lifeforms downstream."
Young follows the information about cotton agriculture with a few tips on sustainable laundry habits, noting that most of a garment's environmental impacts come from washing and drying. Among the rumpled-rocker-friendly tips, he suggests line-drying over machine drying, skipping the iron and washing less often. He also notes that hemp is an even better choice than organic cotton, but less widely available.
Young has long been involved in environmental activism, from his role as a Farm Aid co-founder to the promotion of his LincVolt electric car. Clovis City Celine Cabas Bags Council members got a look Monday night at several potential sites for a much larger library, but made it clear they want the library kept downtown -- even if they have to wait longer to get it."Clovis is not Clovis because we do things in a hurry," Mayor Lynne Ashbeck said. "I think we need downtown, flagship, don't settle."The existing library, which is about 8,600 square feet in the Civic Center on Fifth Street, is among Fresno County's busiest and should be much larger, county Librarian Laurel Prysiazny told the council. With more than 100,000 residents and more expected to arrive over the next decade, Clovis should have two 30,000-square-foot libraries, she said.A building similar to the branch library near Woodward Park is the size Prysiazny is suggesting. Built a decade ago, the Woodward Park branch cost about $10 million. A similar building will likely cost more today. The city has proposed a library expansion north of Celine Wallets Third Street and just east of the Old Town Clovis Trail, but discussions with the owner of an existing pipe yard have taken years and the two sides are far apart, City Manager Robert Woolley said in an interview. The county is exploring alternatives and Prysiazny was interested in hearing the Clovis City Council's suggestions.Council Member Bob Whalen said the city wants to have a "landmark library.""I am happy to be patient," he added. "While we are anxious to get moving, I would rather it be a landmark project we will all be proud of."The county has used shopping center storefronts for libraries and is considering a vacant CVS store on Herndon Avenue, east of Clovis Celine Clasp Bags Avenue. Council members were uniformly opposed to this idea."Old Town is the soul of our city and if we are supposed to have some sort of landmark library, it should be downtown," Council Member Joe Flores said.Other sites include: a 4.5-acre vacant lot in front of Center for Advanced Research and Technology -- CART -- near the southeast corner of Santa Ana and Clovis avenues; and the old Fresno County courthouse site in the Civic Center. If the new library is moved from downtown, the county could consider keeping the existing Civic Center branch open as a second location, Prysiazny said."I have to make sure that we are not only meeting your needs and the community's needs, but doing it as judiciously as we can," she said.

A deep-water search for signs of Malaysia Airlines Flight 370 is on Celine Bags Outlet Store track to start in September, Australian officials. They said that two ships tasked with mapping part of the southern Indian Ocean are continuing to make progress ahead of the mission this fall.聽
Since May, experts have been surveying a region of about 60,000 square kilometers (23,166 square miles) over the area where the plane is in March on its way to Beijing, killing all 239 people onboard.
Experts say this area is one of the least-mapped sections of the ocean; surveys of Mars and Venus are considered 250 times more accurate, the Wall Street Journal 聽The ongoing mapping process is considered key to identifying possible hazards that could impede or delay the deep-ocean search this fall.
Australia鈥檚 Celine UK Online Joint Agency Coordination Center (JACC) said that as of Wednesday, Chinese survey ship Zhu Kezhen had sounded more than 9,600 square miles, while the Australian-contracted Fugro Equator had scanned more than 16,600 square miles, . The Mountaineers, the Northwest s 108-year-old outdoor education organization, has approximately 1,100 people trained to lead its excursions. But trip leader is not a title the club bestows lightly. Earning this role requires months, and in some cases more than a year, of coursework and outdoor excursions. The requirements differ significantly depending on the activity. The most standard courses are navigation and first aid, said Chris Williams, The Mountaineers leadership development manager. Becoming a hiking leader might go pretty quickly, while an activity that is more technical and has more danger, like climbing, will take longer. Outside formal outings like those offered by The Mountaineers, however, the trip leader designation is easier to come by.The role might naturally fall on the group s most experienced person, the person who organized the trip or, perhaps, even the person who is in the best shape. And the coronation of this leader might even go unsaid, the group just naturally assuming one of its members is the leader. But those assumptions can lead to problems.Mindy Roberts of Tacoma has led trips for The Mountaineers since 2002. In 2009 she was among those cited when the Mount Rainier National Park climbing program won the National Park Service s highest honor for public safety.Roberts says one of the most common traps groups fall into during outdoor trips is what s known as the expert halo. This is the assumption an expert in one thing is also expert in another. Assuming the fastest climber is the best rock climber, or the best skier is the best at assessing avalanche risk, Roberts said. When in reality those are different sets of skills. While a member of a group might clearly be the most expert, that doesn t mean they are best suited to serve Louis Vuitton Alma as the group leader.Communication, after all, is yet another, different skill. Everybody has a role in leadership, Roberts said. A diverse group, she says, can make better decisions than one expert.Roberts deftly empowers her groups so they feel comfortable speaking up when they have concerns, whether they be about terrain, weather or going too long without a break.Williams warns about people relying too heavily on an expert. They shouldn t take on an activity in which they re inexperienced with the plan of relying on somebody else without their own preparation, she said. There are always lessons to be learned, even for people with ample outdoor histories something that no one should take for granted. While a group of friends who travel regularly together into the backcountry might naturally work well as a team, that s less likely with a group of people whose members are less familiar with one another. So, how do you tell if this group thinks you re Louis Vuitton Artsy the leader?Well, if you organized the trip or you re the one with the reputation for taking regular outdoor excursions, it might just be you.Roberts suggests reading the group s body language. Who are the people turning to with questions? If the group pauses at the trailhead, waiting for you to go first, you just might be the person they think of as the trip leader. So, what should you do?To quickly establish the idea that everybody plays a role in leadership, Roberts said a little humor can go a long way. I might say, I m not getting paid today; somebody else needs to be in charge, Roberts said. And even when she is clearly the group leader she s likely to delegate responsibilities to everybody. These jobs could range from helping access avalanche risk to choosing a restaurant for the post-trip celebration.Roberts and Williams say a good leader ought to know their group and any injuries or ailments that could create trouble during the trip. Like aging jock syndrome, Roberts said, bad back, bad knee, bad thumb. Williams, who is training to become a Mountaineers trip leader for kayaking and scrambling, said it s important that group members feel comfortable sharing injuries and other conditions. You want to be prepared so you aren t totally surprised if one of these things sneaks up on you, Williams said.Roberts said it s also important to establish an expectation for the group. Somebody might be there for the exercise, while somebody else might want to take a lot of pictures, Roberts said. You should establish as a group what will be a successful day. Setting an expectation for leadership is a good idea too. In fact, if a group is going to designate a leader, it s often best to decide on a leadership style first, Roberts said.Is it going to be a democracy? Or are important decisions going to be decided by one person? A dictator style has a role sometimes, Roberts said. There are times when there is only one right decision whether the entire group realizes it or not, such as group members stopping in areas with risk of rock fall, a bear blocking your way or group members walking out onto a cornice. These aren t situations that don t need a vote to determine what action is best. They are times when the group leader should feel comfortable being stern and telling the others what to do.Might this embarrass the others a bit or hurt their feeling? Yes. But I d rather mend fences than write a speech for your memorial, Roberts said. Good leaders (whether designated or default) prioritize safety and use a variety of tools to communicate to Louis Vuitton Audacieuse the group. Roberts said. This isn't always fun, but it's critical.

If there is any doubt that Rory McIlroy is again the best player in the game then the rankings made it official Sandals on Monday morning.
The Northern Irishman on Sunday added his first World Golf Championship title to the Claret Jug and assumed the world No. 1 position from Australian Adam Scott that he last held 15 months ago. On the day Tiger Woods withdrew with his back injury flaring up again, McIlroy's brilliant performance in the WGC Bridgestone Invitational - to follow up at the first opportunity his Open glory - was just the tonic golf needed.
The 25-year-old heads into this week's US PGA in the form of his life and an overwhelming favourite to secure his fourth major.
Poor Sergio Garcia. The Spaniard valiantly tried to hunt down McIlroy at Hoylake two weeks ago and this time found himself one behind after only three holes, courtesy of a mesmerising trio of McIlroy birdies and his own bogey.

That five on the third came in bizarre style after Garcia's drive hit Sneakers Louis Vuitton a female spectator on the finger and caused the diamond in her engagement ring to fall out. Garcia promised to pay for the precious gem should it not be found. It was. But despite drawing back to level on the back nine, Garcia never regained the lead.
McIlroy was simply too good, his driver too impressive. His 66 hauled him to 15 under and to a two-stroke win over Garcia, whose 71 once more showed a brittle psyche with the line in his sight.
McIlroy only knew he had regained the No. 1 mantle after signing his scorecard and discovering Scott had finished in a tie for eighth; the Australian needed a top-five spot.
McIlroy is establishing himself as the dominant player the sport has demanded since Woods's downfall.
''It's awesome to be Loafers Louis Vuitton No. 1 again,'' McIlroy said. ''It feels a long time since I lost that spot.''

As a fan, you want to believe the Sixers .
But it s hard. This is Philadelphia, after all, and you ve gotten burned so many times before. In 1993, the Sixers took Shawn Bradley over Penny Hardaway and Jamal Mashburn. In 1994, they took Sharone Wright at No. 6 鈥斅燼nd ended up picking in the No. 3 and No. 1 spots the next two seasons. One year the Sixers took聽 鈥斅爄n baseball. Between 1999 and 2003, the best player the Sixers drafted was Samuel Dalembert. The Sixers had the No. 2 pick in the 2010 draft and took Evan Turner, who had just completed one of the best college seasons of all time. He was a disappointment here.

The Sixers' new brain trust is in its second year on the job, and they are not responsible for picks like Ji艡铆 Welsch (taken 16th in 2002, immediately traded for a future first round pick) or Speedy Claxton (an ostensible Iverson replacement taken in 2001 who missed his entire first year with an injury). But each NBA Draft always leaves you memories of getting burned in years past. The nature of basketball allows one player to alter a franchise's history, and in my lifetime the Sixers have acquired one (1) such player in the draft, Allen Iverson.
Put this in the Sixers favor: Whatever you think about the merits of tanking, the Sixers did a bang-up job of it. In just one season, general manager Sam Hinkie and the front office completely re-did the roster. 鈥?if the Porte-Monnaie two wanted to come here, the team could sign LeBron James and Carmelo Anthony this offseason. The team turned Jrue Holiday into Nerlens Noel, Dario 艩ari膰, a second-round pick next year and a first-round pick in 2017. That's incredible 鈥斅爑nless Noel and Saric are stiffs, in which case it's just sad.
The Sixers' draft last night showed that this tanking plan isn't over (though they'll likely be better next year). For the third straight season, , the team acquired an injured big man. This time it was Kansas center Joel Embiid, who 鈥斅燽efore needing surgery on his foot right before the draft 鈥?appeared to be the consensus No. 1 overall pick. It's the exact same situation as last year, when the team acquired an injured Nerlens Noel, who sat out the first season. Embiid is a 7-footer who has been compared to Hakeem Olajuwon. But he also missed the NCAA tournament this year with a stress fracture in his back, and now had surgery to fix .
The good thing is that the Sixers know how to bring along a rookie who's essentially redshirting his first season. They did it just last year with Noel. The bad thing, if you like to see your basketball team win, is that Embiid is unlikely to contribute much this year. (He needs at least a few months after foot surgery.) Their second first-round pick won't contribute either. The Sixers swapped the 10th pick to the Magic for the 12th to get 20-year-old Dario 艩ari膰 and picked up a first-round pick way down the line (2017) and a second-rounder next year to boot. 艩ari膰, a 6-foot-10 power forward from Croatia, . He's expected to stay with powerhouse Anadolu Pochette Louis Vuitton Efes for two seasons.
The Sixers acquired an incredible five players in the second round of this year's draft. Two seem ready to play right away: Clemson's K.J. McDaniels, a 6' 6" swingman who's an off-the-charts Sacs du soir Louis Vuitton athlete, and they also picked up defensive wizard Jerami Grant from Syracuse. These are two players who could have been taken in the late first round, but the Sixers scooped them up on more team-friendly deals. The team also acquired Tennessee's Jordan McRae, who was in the NCAA last season. (The team also, oddly enough, picked Louisville's Russ Smith 鈥?another efficient player 鈥?but shipped him to the Pelicans for Pierre Jackson. The Sixers had selected Jackson last year and traded him to the Pellys; he scored a record 58 points in one D-League game last year.) The Sixers also got Serbia's Vasilije Micic, who they'll be stashing overseas. And, who knows! There could still be more moves.
Yes, the Sixers appear prepared for another season of big losses (and, hopefully, two wins over the Heat again). But they also took incredible prospects who dropped because of reasons unrelated to their play on the court. If Noel, Embiid and 艩ari膰 are the NBA's most fearsome frontcourt in a few years, Sam Hinkie will look like a genius. The Sixers have a ton of unproven guys right now 鈥?but the one player they picked last season who actually played for them turned out to be the Rookie of the Year. It's intriguing. You want to believe.
But it's also the Sixers, and fans are used to disappointment. Is this the start of a new era, or just more of the same? Can it be 2016 already so we can start to find out?

Its not a significant savings on Atlanta's part but is a trend that Danny Ferry has followed with free agents during his time with Atlanta. The best example of this was with the four-year $24 million deal signed by in 2013. Korver made $6.7 million with the Hawks last season but that total will drop to $5.2 million during the final year of the deal in 2017. DeMarre Carroll's deal last season also decreased in value while Paul Millsap's was for a straight $9.5 million over each year.
Structuring contracts this way adds more flexibility to the team's cap picture in future years. While all of that added flexibility has yet to pay off for the Hawks as of yet, Ferry has been very cautious and mindful of the situation and this is another example of such.

Completing the sweep at Pocono with a win of the GoBowling.com 400 is nice, but the big thing about Dale Earnhardt Jr. picking up his third win of the 2014 Sprint Car race is him getting closer to entering the chase in the lead, with his first NASCAR title, finally, looking a more realistic possibility than it ever was.

Earnhardt has won more before: He finished 2004 with six wins, not that it helped him win the title. From 2005 to 2013, he won a total of four races. He is only one shy of that now. With three laps left in the race when the final restart happened, Earnhardt rushed forward ahead of the pack in his no. 88, who he is convinced is better than it was in June, when he won his previous race, leading through the final 14 laps.
Kevin Harvick made it a difficult race for a time before finishing second, clinching his spot in the chase, while being trailed by Joey Logano, Clint Bowyer and Greg Biffle. Jeff Gordon finished sixth a week after his win in the Brickyard, leading the race for 63 laps, more than anyone else. Louis Vuitton Galliera He has more points than Earnhardt (757 to 740), but has won less races which puts him in the inferior position going into the chase.
Hamlin was the cause for a big 13-car wreck, although he himself avoided getting hurt or stopped. He came out sideways from a turn, leading to Brian Vickers trying to avoid him, slamming into Matt Kenseth and causing the chain reaction that made people think of Daytona or Talladega, with Tony Stewart also taken out of the race, finding his car on top of Paul Menard s, as Kyle Busch also failed to finish the race.
Jimmie Johnson was outside the top ten for a fourth straight time, this time blown Louis Vuitton Lockit tires getting in his way of competing. Earnhardt carried the flag for their team with his third win of the season, and maybe finally looking like someone who should be taken seriously for his ability to remain consistent, showing some substance behind the fame and all of the fans, that often seemed like it came for reasons that had nothing to do with racing.

WESTMINSTER, Colo. (CBS4) A man is dead after being shot by a security guard at a Westminster apartment complex.
According to Wayne Read with Westminster police, the shooting occurred in the parking lot of the Sunset Ridge Apartments located at 8300 North Sheridan Boulevard at approximately 1:25 a.m.
The man s family has identified the victim as 24-year-old David Ludewig.
(credit: CBS)
鈥淲itnesses reported the security guard was retreating and attempted to get behind cover after recognizing the individual had a weapon,鈥?Read said in a statement. 鈥淭he individual allegedly had a handgun, raised it, and pointed it at the security guard. The security guard fired his weapon, striking this individual.鈥?
Ludewig鈥檚 family said he the gun he possessed was an airsoft gun, a replica of a handgun that shoots pellets or BBs.
Family members told CBS4 Ludewig was out celebrating news that his wife was pregnant with his first child.
He was taken way too soon, in a manner unfitting of the man that he was, said Ludewig鈥檚 brother-in-law Jacob Thompson. 鈥淭hey shot and killed him in front of everybody. They brought me and four children out of the house in our underwear, sat us on the front porch, and actually made us watch him die.
My cousin made a very, very a very bad mistake and got an air soft gun and pushed back, in order to make him (the security guard) leave us alone, Ludewig鈥檚 cousin Johnny Secrest said.
David Ludewig (credit: Ludewig Family)
Secrest says it was the security guard who confronted the men after seeing Ludewig urinate near a dumpster on the property.
He didn t need to shoot a young man who just went and celebrated with his family and friends that he has a baby coming, neighbor Letitia Gaillard said.
Police released a statement saying they are not naming the security guard at this point, or which company employs him. It鈥檚 not clear if the guard will face charges. The death is being investigated as a homicide, but police are trying to figure out if it was justified.
鈥淚f a guy pulls out an airsoft gun, I really got to believe the security guard believed that to be a real weapon, although that doesn t excuse the actions of the security guard,鈥?said neighbor Greg Nidy, who came out of his apartment to find Ludewig on the pavement with gunshot wounds.
鈥淭here seems to be some discrepancies between what the people around here think happened, and what the police say happened,鈥?neighbor Vilma Dallas said.
Secrest told CBS4 apartment complex managers told Ludewig s family they would be evicted in three days. Ludewig鈥檚 family said they ll be holding a celebration of his life and benefit for his unborn child at Herman s Hideaway in Denver on Sept. 25 from 7 p.m. to midnight.

BATON ROUGE, La. (August 4, 2014) Louisiana Gov. Bobby Jindal headed Monday to Texas' border with Mexico to get a closer look at the nation's immigration crisis.
The Republican governor and likely 2016 presidential candidate was scheduled to take a helicopter ride to get a view of the area Monday, take a boat tour up the Rio Grande River and speak with public safety officials about the influx of people illegally crossing into the United States.
Also on the trip will be Louisiana's state police superintendent, Col. Mike Edmonson, and House Speaker Chuck Kleckley.
Jindal has criticized the Obama administration for giving him little information about more 1,000 unaccompanied immigrant children who have been placed with sponsors in Louisiana and has blamed President Barack Obama for creating a climate that encouraged larger numbers of people to try to enter the United States illegally.

(August 4, 2014) WACO, Texas 鈥?Baylor women鈥檚 golf head coach Jay Goble announced the hiring of Mary Michael Maggio as the program鈥檚 assistant coach on Monday.
Maggio joins Baylor after spending the 2013-14 season as assistant coach during the University of Houston women鈥檚 golf team鈥檚 inaugural season. Her coaching career began as the program鈥檚 volunteer assistant coach before being promoted to full-time assistant in February.
鈥淢ary Michael is going to be a great addition to the Baylor family,鈥?Goble said. 鈥淪he is young, energetic and enthusiastic about helping build one of the elite women鈥檚 golf programs in the country here at Baylor. Her ties to the Big 12 Conference and the state of Texas are invaluable, and I know her strengths are too numerous to name. I could not be more excited to have her by my side next year.鈥?
At Houston, Maggio worked under head coach Gerrod Chadwell, and the duo led the program through its inaugural season with only three participating players, making the Cougars ineligible to compete as a team. However, Raegan Bremer won the individual title at the 2014 HBU Husky Invitational, and she went on to earn a pair of The American Golfer of the Week awards and was named to the All-American Athletic Conference Team. The trio of golfers combined to record 13 top-25 individual finishes out of 26 total events played.
Maggio began her collegiate playing career at LSU, where she played two seasons before transferring to Texas A&M for her final two years. She won the 2012 Big 12 Conference Championship and was named to the All-Big 12 and All-Big 12 Tournament teams as a senior.
Throughout her collegiate career, Maggio helped her teams to seven tournament championships and earned seven top-10 and 10 top-25 individual finishes. She won Big 12 Golfer of the Month in April 2012, and she was named GolfWeek Player of the Week in October 2012.
Maggio replaces former assistant coach Diana Cantu, who spent three seasons at Baylor before being named head coach at Maryland in June.

That was not the day's finest play, however. That honor belongs to Orlando Scandrick, who skied high in the air to tip and then catch a high pass along the left sideline - one that Tony Romo later said he was trying to throw away. Scandrick has often been criticized for his hands (or lack thereof), but has reportedly been working on improving this aspect of his game. If today's top play is any indication, he's done yeoman's work.
Scandrick's defensive running mates joined him in some fine work on Sunday. Late last week, you will recall, the defense was humiliated in the full team period, especially in the run period, as the Dallas O-line opened big holes between the tackles and, on multiple occasions, got runners to the edge unscathed. Since then, the defense has improved tremendously. One of the key reasons for this is improved run fits and reading keys more accurately. Rod Marinelli's defensive staff has been working on them a lot, and the work appeared to be paying off this weekend, as the offense found running room considerably more difficult to come by.
Moreover, after getting stuck on blocks too easily late last week, defensive front seven players started to disrupt plays this weekend by getting penetration. On Sunday, Tyrone Crawford blew up a run about four yards in the backfield and, a few plays, later, DeVonte Holloman did the same on the other side of the field. Defensive penetration (and the resultant disruption) is this defense's hallmark, so it was a welcome sight to see blue jerseys playing on the other side of the line of scrimmage.
Speaking of Holloman, he made a superb play during Sunday's scrimmage, covering the deep zone in cover-2. This, as you know, is the benchmark for a middle linebacker in this system: does he have the wheels to run with tight ends and slot receivers up the seam to fill one of soft spots in Cover-2? Indeed, Holloman did; he raced back about 50 yards to deflect a deep Brandon Weeden pass intended for Tim Benford.
This brings me to the Cowboys' linebacking corps in general, a unit that has gone under-reported thus far. This is largely due to geography: they always practice on the one place on the field that has the least access. In the last couple of days, however, this has changed, so I wanted to share some scattered - and long overdue - impressions of what is probably the team's most unsettled position group:
In chatting with the other half of "Double Coverage," my podcast co-host Landon McCool, we discussed the Cowboys' "athletic freaks" - the players who were simply superior athletically to the other players on the team. The obvious candidates are Dez Bryant and Tyron Smith. McCool offered another: middle linebacker Rolando McClain, who has incredible speed, agility and range for a man of his size (he, like Holloman, can run up the seam, but at 260 pounds). It remains to be seen whether he'll return to that form any time soon (or ever, really), but it was an interesting point, and makes me want to study McClain in much greater depth.
Related to the McClain signing is what the club has done - albeit quite subtly and without the fanfare usually attendant on such moves - with Anthony Hitchens. Immediately after the draft, you may recall, it was communicated that Hitchens was drafted as an emergency backup linebacker should anything happen to Sean Lee. As soon as Lee went down, the first question was: can Hitchens handle manning the defensive pivot? Apparently, the coaches don't believe so; he started camp as an outside 'backer and has stayed there throughout, even as the coaches have mixed and matched players all across the front seven.
That's not to say that they have fallen out of love with the former Hawkeye. Rather, they seem to have developed a clearer view of the realistic contribution he is capable of making: a backup OLB who is a key special teams contributor. Indeed, Hitchens is one of the four or five players - and the only rookie, I believe - to be found on each of the special teams units. This level of use suggests that the coaches have a clearly articulated plan for him. It's just not the plan that they had initially conceived (or, perhaps, the one that caused them to give him a fourth round grade).
Speaking of former fourth rounders, I believe one of the team's most improved players is Kyle Wilber. This time last year, he appeared to struggle in pass rush drills, where he lacked the kind of burst required of weakside ends in this system. Somehow, after an extended period of time working as a strongside linebacker, he's gained an explosion and burst that he didn't have twelve months ago. Now, not only does he do an excellent job anchoring the strong side, he has shown to be one of the leading candidates to become the ingredient this defense most needs: that explosive weak-side end.
The other candidate at that position is a former linebacker, Martez Wilson. Earlier in camp, I wrote that he had the best burst of the team's defensive linemen, but seemed to struggle with technique, often drawing criticism from Rod Marinelli. Over the course of camp, however, he has improved steadily, showing much better hands and using better leverage. He twice beat back-up OT Jermey Parnell in one-on-one pass rush drills on Sunday, once by using his superior burst to beat him around the edge and then by using a quick outside step and then cutting inside so rapidly that the off-balance Parnell couldn't recover.
As I said above, that kind of line play is doing to be one of the biggest difference makers going forward...

Steve Edward Perkins was arrested about 11:30 p.m. Saturday at a West Waco home.
The parents told investigators they were out of the house and Perkins, who had been staying with the family for the past few weeks, was watching the 10-year-old girl. But when the parents returned, the girl accused Perkins of fondling her under her shirt, Waco police Sgt. Patrick Swanton reported.
The father confronted Perkins, who attempted to leave after being told police were on the way. The father detained Perkins and during that time Perkins was struck on the head.
After investigating the complaint, officers arrested Perkins and took him to an area hospital where he was treated for a minor injury to his head.
He remained in jail Monday on a $50,000 bond.

It's no secret that 3D printing is making big strides for the future of not just technology, but and as well. And the is looking to leverage the platform for its warhead production. 3D printing is nothing new to this particular branch of the military, as it has been working on bioprinted replacement skin for battle wounds -- amongst other projects. The Army is looking to implement the tech to produce components for the weapons that will both reduce cost and increase customization. "The real value you get is you can get more safety, lethality or operational capability from the same space," said materials engineer James Zunino. Part of the allure here is that warheads could also be built to suit each mission, rather being mass-produced to outfit a range of duties. But the Army isn't stopping with pieces: the possibility of printing an entire rocket isn't too far fetched given how quickly 3D printing continues to develop. As with any military-grade weapon, the risk of the production files falling into the wrong hands is certainly a concern.

WESTMINSTER, Colo. (CBS4) - The security guard who shot and killed a Westminster man this weekend may have been聽justified, police said Monday, because the victim pointed a pellet gun that looked like a real gun at the guard.
This airsoft gun, in particular, had the orange cap removed. But even then, in the heat of the moment in darkness, it s hard to tell. They really look like real guns, Westminster police spokeswoman Cheri Spottke said.
Family members said David Ludewig, 24, was celebrating news his wife was pregnant with their first child. He was drunk, they said, when the guard confronted him for allegedly urinating on a trash bin outside his apartment at 8300 North Sheridan Boulevard at approximately 1:30 a.m. on Saturday.
(credit: CBS)
After the confrontation, police said, Ludewig returned to his home to fetch the weapon. Then, according to police, witnesses said the guard retreated after Ludewig pointed the weapon at him. The guard then fired.
Spottke said the guard, whose name hasn t been released, works for Pentagon Protective Service and is licensed to carry a gun in the city.
I don t think he probably would have chosen to fire his weapon had he not thought there was a direct threat to his life, she said.
An example of an airsoft gun (credit: Westminster Police Department)
Ludewig s cousin, Johnny Secrest, witnessed the confrontation and said that many residents complained about the guard. But he said his cousin made a mistake.
Nobody please pull a pellet gun out, he said. It is the wrong thing to do.
Monday s statement from police is the first indication they believe the guard may not have been聽at fault. Earlier, Spottke said in a statement: 鈥淭he Westminster police would like to remind everyone it is difficult to differentiate between an airsoft gun and a real gun. This is an ongoing investigation and the case will be presented to the district attorney鈥檚 office later in the week.鈥?
Ludewig鈥檚 family has planned a celebration of his life and benefit for his unborn child at Herman s Hideaway in Denver on Sept. 25 from 7 p.m. to midnight.

鈥淚 didn鈥檛 force anything down anyone鈥檚 throat,鈥?Taylor said. 鈥淚 didn鈥檛 make anyone stay here until 7 a.m. or 11 a.m. or whenever it is that everyone finally left. I didn鈥檛 make this kid pass out on my floor. People wanted to be here. That was their decision.鈥?

All the bands on the course are local bands, but the headliner band at the end that was chosen is a touring band.
MORE FROM RADIO.COM:
They are kind of up and comers, said Culpepper, referring to The Wild Feathers. So those are the ones we like to tap into. People might be starting to hear them on the radio and then by race day they are like Oh yeah, I know these guys.

Affordable Care Act Updates:

Health News Information:

DENVER (CBS4)- Prescription drugs called Benzos are a class of one of the most widely prescribed medications in the U.S., but there is new concern in Colorado that they are being overused.
Benzodiazepines include a variety of sedative-like medications used to treat ailments like anxiety and insomnia.
Clonazepam, the generic of Klonopin. (credit: CBS)
Benzos are becoming very controversial in the medical community because of the dangers of tolerance and addiction.
I wish I had explored every other option for relief of my symptoms, said Kelley McMillian.
She started taking the Benzodiazepine Klonopin in 2008 when she complained to her doctor about anxiety and problems sleeping.
I didn t even know what they were, said McMillian.
The then 29-year-old was prescribed a daily 1.5 milligram dose of Clonazepam, the generic version of Klonopin, a high dose but within normal parameters.
I grew up kind of believing that psychiatric medications were normal, said McMillian.
Over the next few months she said the drug worked wonders. But those months turned into years and that s when she started noticing other problems.
If I didn t have my medication or if I ran out, I wouldn t be able to sleep, said McMillian.
And she started to notice other side effects; her good memory was faltering and her mood and anxiety actually started to get worse.
At one point McMillian stopped taking the pills cold turkey, I couldn t sleep and I just fell into a massive depression, I was crying for days.
It was at this time that a different doctor told her that she was worried McMillian developed a dependency and needed to ease herself off the drug slowly.
When they are taken for a very long time, the body builds a resistance to the medication, said University of Colorado Hospital Addiction Specialist Dr. Patrick Fehling.
Fehling said Benzo s do serve a helpful purpose in treating short term anxiety, Where Benzodiazepines are dangerous really involves their addictive potential and their overdose potential.
According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, drug overdose deaths surpassed motor vehicle deaths in 2011, with Benzo-related fatalities responsible for more than cocaine or heroin.
There are risks with these medications, they are control substances for a reason, said Fehling.
Specifically in Colorado, Benzo-related deaths have risen sharply. According to a recent report from the National Institute of Drug Abuse Colorado, death rates have nearly doubled from the years 2003 to 2012.
It s most dangerous when it s mixed with other substances such as alcohol or prescription pain killers, said Fehling.
Getting off them has been really difficult, said McMillian.
McMillian is almost completely off of her medication. Now she s using other coping methods such as not drinking alcohol, exercising and using her profession as a writer to document her experience.
Benzos are not a cure, they are a Band-Aid, said McMillian.
She advises those with similar issues to do research before turning to prescription drugs, I never knew that these drugs had the potential for chemical dependency.
Fehling said medical offices nationwide have put an emphasis on the potential dangers of Benzodazipines.
Anyone who believes they may be developing a dependency or addiction is urged to talk to their health care provider.

a whopping $6 million in unpaid wages and damages to its current and former employees, the US Department of Labor said yesterday.
The government agency carried out an investigation during which it discovered that the company violated overtime and record-keeping rules that are part of the federal Fair Labor Standards Act. These rules require hourly employees to earn 1.5 their rates for overtime.
This was a function of not having the right tools in place for a small subset of our sales force to track hours properly , said Shannon Stubo, vice president of corporate communications, adding that most of the affected employees were in sales.
According to the Labor Department, LinkedIn neither recorded, nor did it pay for all hours in a workweek, including overtime, to 359 employees working at company branches in California, Illinois, Nebraska and New York.
The settlement amount includes more than $3.3 million in retroactive overtime wages and more than $2.5 million in damages. In addition, the settlement will also see the company train employees that off-the-clock work is prohibited for all non-exempt workers.
The company cooperated with investigators and agreed to pay the amount once it was notified of the violations. A Labor Department representative said that the company has mailed the payments to all those who are covered under the aforementioned settlement.
Founded in 2002 and headquartered in Mountain View, California, LinkedIn is used by individuals for professional networking, connecting, and job searching. The company has 313 million members.

ISTANBUL (Reuters) - Turkey is building a refugee camp in the Kurdish region of northern Iraq to accommodate refugees from the ethnic Turkmen minority fleeing the rapid advance of Islamic State militants, a Turkish official said on Tuesday.Turkish opposition parties had been urging Ankara to help the Turkmens, Iraq's third largest ethnic group after Arabs and Kurds, who have close cultural and linguistic links with Turkey.Turkey already hosts more than a million refugees from the conflict in neighboring Syria, of whom 300,000 live in state-run camps. During the 1991 Gulf War, half a million Iraqis fled to Turkey. The Turkish Disaster and Emergency Management Directorate (AFAD) is setting up a camp to house 20,000 in the Fishkabur area of Iraq's Dohuk province, to be managed by Turkmen authorities, the official said. "The plan is to complete the camp in a week. It will be mainly for Turkmens fleeing their homes, but it will be open to anyone who has fled," an AFAD official told Reuters. "There is no preparation right now for building a camp or camps inside Turkey for those coming from Iraq," he added. "There is no such need. There is no refugee exodus from Iraq, as was the case in Syria."Most recently, hundreds of Turkmen families fled the northwestern Iraqi town of Sinjar after Islamic State insurgents captured it. The United Nations says up to 200,000 people have escaped the town in all. AFAD and other organizations have been sending humanitarian aid since June to Iraqi Turkmens affected by the conflict.
